Engagement ring cleaning - If your engagement ring has started to look a bit grubby and needs cleaning take it along to a Jewellers, I would suggest one of the smaller stores again, they can clean the ring up for about $10/£5 or re-plate it for around $40/£20.

White gold is actually plated anyway and is known to lose its shine with age. If the ring was originally purchased a year or so ago it may look a little dull. If you take it along to a jeweller they will have it re-plated and it will look brand new again.

There are kits you can purchase to clean jewellery at home but I would recommend taking your ring to a jeweller. It probably won't cost you any more than a home kit and youhave the piece of mind knowing a professional job has been done.

If you are purchasing a second hand ring or passing a ring down to a family member it is very inexpensive to have it cleaned.
